htaccess file

Hi,

I've got an issue regarding the htaccess. I want my homepage to be available for everyone. Homepage + request + plex should be available to the public, the rest should be behind a htaccess.

Now after a while, I found this:

location = / {
    auth_basic off;
    return 301 /server;
        }

Shouldn't this mean that the homepage needs no htaccess? (same for /server). It works for webmin and phpmyadmin but it doesn't work for / and /server.

  • Take a look at /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/reverse

    Where else do you think I found this.........?
    location = / {
        auth_basic off;
        return 301 /server;
            }

    Anyway, found it already. Auth wasn't off for the pinger.
  • My apologies,  I may have been a bit drunk when I replied to that.

    Ok I don't think that / does require a username/password, at least I could cancel login and the page would still load up. I believe it's only certain elements it's accessing, netdata or plexpy are the only two I'm aware of and being that the plexpy images loaded, it's more than likely the netdata stuff being referenced.
