Any way to change from SickRage to Sonarr post install?

I have just realised how awful SickRage is to my previous Sonarr setup - is it possible to change the settings post install or am I going to have to wipe and start again?

Comments

  • I haven't tried to do this, but if you don't want to reinstall you might take a look at the setup script code https://github.com/mfrelink/OpenFLIXR.Wizard/blob/master/settings.php

As of the time of this message it looks like lines 349-392 cover the selection and install of SickRage and Sonarr.

Also, on the OpenFlixr.com site, there is this comment:
OpenFLIXR default and recommended TV Shows downloader is SickRage and NZB downloader SABnzbd.
Choosing Sonarr or NZBget requires you to make manual changes and is not supported.

So I am not sure what else you may need to setup when moving to Sonarr
  • Right now, there isn't an automated way to change this post install.
Also, choosing Sonarr / NZBget will give you a lot of headache if you aren't prepared to do a lot of manual configuration.

  • You can switch it, I did it, you just have to remove  Sickrage from your startup scripts, enable sonarr, and configure sonarr. It's not that hard.

I'm having difficulty configuring Sonarr, i'm getting permission errors when Sonarr is trying to write to folders.
Please would you share how you reconfigured it to work?

Ran SR and Sonarr side-by-side. Not 100% comfortable with Sonarr, like the look and feel better in SR, and have the feeling I have better control over the post-processing. I wanted to switch back to SR, but it looks like I screwed up my SR installation. What is the correct way to completely reinstall SR ?
  • It looks like it's a straight Git clone from https://github.com/SickRage/SickRage.git.
So it's unlikely that a reinstall will change anything - it'll be the config files that are wrong and they won't be touched if you force git to clobber the local files.

    Config file is here:
    /home/sickrage/config.ini
There may be more config files in the install location (/opt/sickrage) that Git ignores, check out what the .gitignore file says (/opt/sickrage/.gitignore) for clues on other local config files.

I have no idea how you'd return to a default config - it might be that the ini file would be regenerated if it wasn't there?  The sickrage forum might have more info.
